Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Acute Care

If you are passionate about helping patients recover from acute injuries or illnesses, join us as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Acute Care. In this role, you will work under the supervision of an occupational therapist to provide therapy services tailored to the unique needs of patients in acute settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans designed to improve functional independence, mobility, and cognitive skills in patients.
• Create engaging therapy activities that promote skill development while maintaining a supportive environment for patients recovering from acute conditions.
• Collaborate with families to educate them on strategies that support continued progress outside therapy sessions.
• Adjust therapy activities based on each patient’s progress toward recovery goals or milestones.
• Maintain detailed records of evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes for each patient under your care.

Work Environment:

• The role is based in hospitals or acute care facilities where COTAs work closely with patients requiring immediate rehabilitation support.
