** _ Position Description _**
Provides support to in the execution of the Marine Corps Certification Program, and compliance with Marine Corps Order (MCO) P10120.28, individual Clothing Regulations. As a SME, the textile technologist will:
Responsibilities
Conduct research leading to improvements in ballistic, flame resistance, and other fabrics of interest for military applications
Support the development of product specifications and other technical documentation in support of textile technology programs
Conduct fabric and textile component testing to support R&D and current textile-based acquisition program
Utilize textile processing expertise to identify, track, or mitigate technical risks for military clothing and body armor acquisition programs
Provide customer support and problem-solving expertise to textile and fabric users, manufacturers, and other USMC stakeholders.
Support systems engineering efforts with a direct role in test planning and evaluation, requirements analysis, requirements verification, design verification, systems analysis, systems control and the development and delivery of associated systems engineering artifacts
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lumbee Program Manager
