About Us: Artera is an AI startup that develops medical artificial intelligence tests to personalize therapy for cancer patients. Artera is on a mission to personalize medical decisions for patients and physicians on a global scale.

Hybrid - once a week at our office in Los Altos, CA

We are hiring new grads to join our Platform Engineering team, which builds the infrastructure powering the development and global deployment of our AI-based diagnostic tests. This roles responsibilities will include designing, building, and managing our compute infrastructure on AWS.

The ideal candidate would be someone with hands-on infrastructure experience (ideally with AWS) gained through internships and who is eager to learn and grow quickly.

This is a great opportunity for a new grad to work with experienced infrastructure leaders from places such as Netflix, Amazon, and Google and grow into a seasoned engineer.

• In this role, you will closely collaborate with AI scientists and software developers. You will design, build, and maintain compute infrastructure (AWS Kubernetes, AWS ECS, Lambda and EC2 instances) that powers everything Artera does at scale
• Drive both independent and collaborative software development projects end-to-end
• Work closely with stakeholders from AI, Engineering, Biostatistics, and clinical development to define and refine the platforms architecture, ensuring scalability, observability, reliability, and performance.
• Build out core infrastructure, tooling and software development process.
• Work closely with machine learning engineers to optimize their training and inference workflows keeping efficiency and cost in mind
• Contribute to a range of platform engineering projects, from one-off solutions to long-term systems.
• Contribute to Cloud Infrastructure security tools and services.

• Demonstrated integrity and consideration for appropriate data governance when working with sensitive confidential data
• Understanding of security concepts and best practices for maintaining secure infrastructure
• Prior experience managing AWS Kubernetes and AWS ECS infrastructure.
• Prior experience upgrading Kubernetes clusters and ECS in production environments.
• Experience with some of AWS Storage services: S3/EFX/FSx.
• You have a track record of building infrastructure automation solutions using Infrastructure-As-Code.
• You have some experience with CI/CD.
• You have experience building services and tools using Python with software engineering mindset

$120,000 - $150,000 a year

In addition to base salary, equity is a core component of our compensation. We also offer 401k matching, unlimited paid time off (PTO), and more.

The base salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, qualifications, and other factors to be discussed during the interview process.
