Job Title: Safety/Loss Prevention Manager

Reports To: Director of Safety and Compliance

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary:

The Safety and Loss Prevention (LP) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all workplace safety programs and loss prevention strategies across the facility. This role ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards, promotes a strong culture of safety, and protects company assets by minimizing safety risks and potential losses. The Safety/LP Manager will lead training programs, manage security protocols, and collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Operations, and Maintenance to enforce safety standards and ensure business continuity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety and loss prevention programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular facility audits and inspections to identify safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead safety orientations for all new hires and facilitate ongoing safety training and refresher courses for current employees.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA, GMP, HACCP, SSOP, and internal standards.
  • Supervise security operations, including contracted security personnel, access controls, theft prevention protocols, and incident response.
  • Maintain and update safety documentation, training records, inspection logs, and incident reports.
  • Coordinate and lead accident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning.
  • Collaborate with leadership and HR on workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
  • Monitor daily safety activities and support cross-functional teams with safety-related guidance and decision-making.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and employee accountability throughout the organization.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, GMP, HACCP, SSOP).
  • Experience in workplace security and loss prevention strategies.
  • Proven ability to develop and conduct effective training programs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Windows-based applications and safety management systems.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate across departments.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or safety-related certifications preferred (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP, CHSP).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety or loss prevention role, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Experience managing regulatory compliance and employee training programs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and access all operational areas.
