Job Description

Playback Rewards is seeking a skilled and motivated Full Stack Web Developer (Intern) to join our startup team of games industry veterans to help build a powerful and scalable video game rewards platform. In this role, you will join our experienced development team where you’ll build and maintain web applications and features in TypeScript/JavaScript and serverless architectures on Google Cloud. The ideal candidate is driven to learn, grow, and solve problems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
  • Coordinate with development and design teams to develop applications that are aligned with expected outcomes and run on numerous platforms.
  • Contribute to the development of technical designs and architecture plans.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members and ensuring code quality and consistency.
  • Take initiative to enhance our technology and drive innovation.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • In process towards a BS in Computer Science or similar degree
  • Experience with multiple TypeScript and/or JavaScript projects
  • Familiarity with modern web technologies, frameworks, and tools (e.g., React, Node.js, Express, Tailwind, etc.)
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming concepts
  • Experience with modern source control systems such as Git, GitHub, common branching strategies and pull requests processes.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Any professional level experience or prior internship experience is a plus
  • Experience with cloud architecture on GCP, Azure, or AWS
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes
  • Experience with agile-like development methodologies and ticketing systems
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Firestore
  • Experience creating cross-platform optimized and scalable user experiences
  • Experience with web security, testing, or AI/ML/LLM
