Job Description
We are seeking an experienced technical leader with a proven track record in defining and driving enterprise data strategies. This position is responsible for developing an overarching strategy to transform WMATA's data-driven decision-making capabilities, orchestrate, integrate, and manage data pipelines across diverse sources, and support analytics and reporting needs. The ideal candidate will define an enterprise data strategy, delivering secure and scalable solutions.
This role leads teams involved in data transformation, data warehouse management, data pipeline development, data governance, and maintaining an analytics infrastructure that supports both enterprise and open-source tools. It also involves evolving our data architecture toward a modern, modular, cloud-centric data stack that facilitates analysis and reporting aligned with digital modernization efforts.
This leadership role requires collaboration across various teams within Digital Modernization and the broader authority. Experience with government or large-scale organizations in enterprise business systems, business intelligence, data warehousing, and governance is essential. Experience with transit data systems and cloud environments (Azure and Oracle) is valuable, as is expertise in managing multiple reporting tools or complex data management strategies. The successful candidate will maximize data value while ensuring security, compliance, and usability.
