Who We Are ALARA Logistics is a small, privately owned company experiencing a period of both growth and maturity. We are a specialized logistics company headquartered in Houston, TX, with additional offices in Australia and South Korea. We focus on all phases of transportation including high-consequence material, difficult-to-transport cargo, oil-industry projects, and hazardous cargo from conception to production. We have a small team (15-20 people in Houston) of professionals with specialized experience and licenses in the transportation industry, as well as administrative and warehouse staff.

We are open to considering a wide variety of backgrounds for this role. We offer a casual office environment and offer a hybrid schedule with one work from home day per week after you’ve been acclimated with the company.
Summary The Air Export Coordinator is responsible for providing Air Export services to client companies for their cargoes while ensuring operational excellence, high productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Job Description Role and Responsibilities
- Provides Air Export services to client companies, ensuring timely and accurate processing of documentation and all other aspects of customer requirements, including, but not limited to, booking shipments, preparing Airway bills, Shippers’ Export Declarations, documentation required for clearance at destination, invoicing, packing lists, letters of credit when needed, input of data for tracking and tracing shipments, as required.
- Responsible for continuous improvement of service processes to drive gains in quality and productivity.
- Responsible for Quoting, Coordinating the shipment of goods and billing our customers.
- Responsible for compliance with all trading countries’ rules, sanctions, and documentation requirements.
- Responsible for adherence to U.S. customs, TSA, and all other government agencies’ rules, regulations and laws
- Adheres to proper Routing of Shipments according to client instructions.
- Responsible for ensuring the highest quality and accuracy of document processing.
- Responsible for customer satisfaction and customer retention by implementing effective service capabilities; will interface directly with client companies in a professional manner and respond to all inquiries in a timely manner.
- Communicate with all parties involved in the process: i.e., air carriers, trucking companies, brokers, warehouses, overseas agents, & customers.
- Ability to think on your feet by troubleshooting problems – handling irregularities and preventing recurrence.
- Assists the day-to-day operations of the team members to ensure that customer requirements are met.

Education and Experience - High school Diploma or equivalent required.
- Air Export freight forwarding experience required.
- Knowledge of export operations is required.
- Ability to obtain regulatory requirements for the transportation of hazardous materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
